President Salome Zurabishvili did not receive an invitation to the December 26-28 Ambassadors Conference 2023, the President’s Administration said.
Georgian FM Ilia Darchiashvili responded to the Presidential Administration. He said the conference was dedicated to the “concrete moves” made by the government and parliament.
“Last year, the President was invited to the Ambassadors Conference but she did not take part. This year the format was planned based on the logic that the executive and legislative authorities worked for the outcome,” he said.
Organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the annual gathering of heads of Georgian diplomatic representations and consulates, Ambassadors Conference 2023: Georgia – EU candidate country, was opened by Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili.
