President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili will join the public celebration planned today at the initiative of the Prime Minister. The President announced this at the briefing.
“The Prime Minister announced that there will be a public celebration. I’m joining the celebration, you should too. We should all stand together, because it will be a celebration of Georgia and I am ready to participate in everything. If they invite me to the rostrum, fine, if not, I will be in the crowd. Together we will celebrate tomorrow [today], which is not the last day. This is the beginning of the future of Georgia, the glorious future, the European future, and I congratulate everyone on this,” said Salome Zurabishvili.
The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, invites the public to Freedom Square today, December 15, to celebrate the historic fact of Georgia being granted EU candidate status.
Garibashvili announced this at a briefing held in the Government Administration.
The European Council granted Georgia candidate status. In addition, the European Council made a decision to open accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova.
