21 people, including politician Giorgi Baramidze, were detained during the raid on the office of the United National Movement this morning.
Later, Baramidze and other detainees were released from custody.
Giorgi Baramidze, one of the leaders of the United National Movement, says that he fainted during the special operation and the ambulance brigade provided first aid, after which he found himself in a police car.
The politician claims the police arrested him and later he was released from custody along with other activists.
A special task force arrested the opposition leader, Chairman of the United National Movement party Nika Melia, at the party office this morning. Before the arrest, the law enforcers sprayed pepper spray into the room.
Melia has been transferred to Rustavi penitentiary establishment 12.
