The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, while presenting the annual report, spoke about the European Union’s decision to give Georgia a European perspective, adding that it was hard to imagine before.
“This war accelerated the processes, it is clear to us. We expected to receive the candidate status, although we understand well that not granting Georgia the status at this stage was only a political decision, it was not a decision based on merit. However, we believe that our country will receive the status very soon. The reason for saying this is the circumstances and the successful reforms that we have carried out. The 12 recommendations that were defined for our country have been meticulously implemented with the involvement of the parliament and us. Now we are waiting for the decision of our European colleagues,” said the Prime Minister.
He also added that all the progress achieved in the last ten years is the merit of the Georgian dream.
