Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili responded to attacks on the Former Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo noting his thoughts & prayers are with him.
“Deeply saddened to hear news about the attack on Abe Shinzo, while addressing the voters. Our thoughts & prayers are with him and his family. Georgia stands with the people of Japan,” Tweeted Garibashvili.

Abe was shot in the back while giving a speech at one of the events held as part of the election campaign. He was taken to the hospital by helicopter.
