Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze described the questioning of former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili at the State Security Service (SSS) as “very regrettable on a human level” but refrained from commenting further on the matter.
Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze emphasized the importance of human relationships, saying, “Of course, human relationships are of great importance, so I will refrain from making any comments.” He added that inquiries regarding the investigation should be directed to the relevant agencies, which are responsible for providing information.
Regarding the broader political context, Kobakhidze stressed that the government has been operating transparently since February 8, 2024. “You can monitor the activities of the Georgian government, any government agency, any decision, and if you detect any signs of corruption, we are ready to answer all questions,” he said.
Kobakhidze also highlighted improvements in government practices, noting that transparency measures have been strengthened and the budget now benefits maximally from government decisions.
