The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili stated that the second National Strategy for the Protection of Human Rights got approved today for 2022-2030.
He noted that considering the high political and public significance of the National Strategy, it was developed with a multi-stakeholder engagement and has been approved by the Government and the Parliament of Georgia.
“Aspiration of the State towards institutional democracy ensured equality in the deployment of civil, political, social, cultural and economic rights, solidified policy of equitability and care for the citizens affected by the occupation are the foundation of state policy, which serves as a basis of the document. With the adoption of the Strategy, the Government and Parliament of Georgia confirm the commitment assumed by the country towards human rights and basic freedoms, which envisages a consistent and uninterrupted implementation of the systemic and long-term policy for the protection of human rights,” stated Garibashvili.
