The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili wished happy World Press Freedom Day to journalists noting spreading reliable and balanced information is journalists’ responsibility to their people and country, and fulfilling it steadfastly brings about much public appreciation.
“It is work based on these very principles and values that is regarded in the world as highly professional and free journalism, because upholding these standards sets the solid stage for democratic development in the country.
The free press is indicative of both the country’s level of democracy and its democratic aspirations. Our country’s media environment has changed over the years, but today we have a free, independent, and pluralistic media domain.
Once again, I wish a Happy World Press Freedom Day to all journalists and wish them success in their professional endeavors,” noted Garibashvili.
