The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, announced at a briefing in the government administration that Giorgi Amilakhvari will take over the position of Minister of Education and Science of Georgia.
“Gyorgi Amilakhvari is a very successful person. He has a very good, decent education. He studied in the USA, then in Germany. He worked on his dissertation at the Max Planck Research Institute in Hamburg, Germany. He has the degree of Doctor of Laws and is an associate professor. Amilakhvari has successful work experience. He is the founder of one of the most successful universities, during his rectorship this university achieved many successes and is one of the very good examples of how a young, motivated person should create a very modern, European, western quality university,” said the Prime Minister.
Until now, Amilakhvari held the position of the Chairman of the Education and Science Committee of the Parliament.
