The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, spoke about the imposition of sanctions by the US on 4 Georgian judges noting that he fully supports all judges.
“As the head of the government and the representative of the ruling party, I express my full support to all the judges. During our rule, the court has become independent, free from any interference, both internal and from other countries. Of course, any interference or any influence on the judges is unacceptable.
This is absolutely unacceptable to all of us, especially to the sovereign court and judges of a sovereign country. I have also assured the honorable Judges of our full support. We will do our best to protect the independence of the court, the freedom of the court, from any interference, pressure,” the Prime Minister said.
