The Parliamentary Delegation, as a part of the official visit to Ireland, held a meeting with the Councillor of Cork City, Deirdre Forde.
The parties discussed the cooperation prospects between the municipalities and dwelt on the enhancement of the ties in the spheres of culture and tourism. The emphasis was made on the importance of the Twinning Agreement between Cork County and Ajara AR.
The parties expressed their commitment to promoting the intensification of the relations between Cork and Batumi in terms of education, trade, investments, tourism, culture-to-culture awareness and environmental protection.
Georgian MPs thanked Cllr. Forde for allocating the classrooms and concert halls for the Georgian Sunday School “Pesvebi” (Roots), where the Georgian children can learn Georgian history, language and folk dances and songs. MPs visited the Sunday School and met with the pedagogues and children, as well as the other representatives of the Georgian Diaspora, overviewed their needs and delivered the textbooks. The School has been established with the support of the Georgian Embassy to Ireland and hosts 32 children.
The official visit of the Georgian Delegation to Ireland has been accomplished with the tour in Cork City.
