Parliament, in the first reading, adopted the draft law “On transparency of foreign influence” with 83 votes. The voting of the draft law “On transparency of foreign influence” was preceded by a three-day noisy committee and session discussion.
The draft law “In order to ensure transparency”, initiated for the second time by the Georgian Dream faction, envisages the registration of such non-entrepreneurial (non-commercial) legal entities and media outlets, whose income – more than 20% – is received from abroad as an organization carrying out the interests of a foreign power. According to the project, everyone who is considered an “organization carrying the interests of a foreign power” must be registered in the public register under the same name in a mandatory manner. At the time of registration, it will be necessary to reflect the received income. At the same time, the organizations will have the obligation to fill in the financial declaration every year.
“We will fight to the end”, “Russians”, “slaves” – participants of the rally against the ‘Russian Law’ gathered at the back entrance of the parliament thus responded the adoption of the draft law in the first reading. In addition, they announced a rally in front of the parliament at 19:00.
The rally participants are chanting “No Russian law”, “Russians”. “You are slaves, slaves.”
“We continue to fight, we do not give up. We meet in front of the Parliament at 19:00. Everyone out. Georgian Dream should not choose to destroy our future. We will protest until the end. We will not disband,” the participants of the rally say.
