“I explained to the President that we had no official invitation from the Ukrainian Parliament. Therefore, this was not based on the right information. I have also repeatedly said publicly that we had no official invitation from the Ukrainian Rada,” – said Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia.
As he noted, the Parliament of Georgia has not received an invitation from the Ukrainian Rada. He said that the President of Ukraine did not consider it necessary to invite the President of Georgia despite her desire.
“Today we learned that the President did not receive an invitation either. She wanted to have an invitation, but it seems that the President of Ukraine did not consider it necessary to invite the President of Georgia. We had no invitation. There was a personal invitation at a friendship group level, personal invitations at different formats. Even after this stir, we had communication with our colleagues, in Rada. On the contrary, they contacted us and asked about this stir. Once again, there was no official invitation, there were, so to say, offers in the format of some friendship groups, but it was not official”, he said.
According to Papuashvili, until Ukraine is in this unjust war, “our solidarity with Ukraine and Ukrainian people is unconditional”.
