Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili noted that Moldova and Ukraine have applied for EU membership, adding that if one looks at Georgia with an objective assessment in terms of the Association Agenda and implementation, it is the leader in this trio.
”We expect that in this changed context, the EU will discuss an expedited procedure. In general, the main thing is that we follow the Association Agreement. The main result for our population is not so much the formal part of the status, but a substantive part of Europeanness. This is what the Georgian Dream team and the parliament are aiming for,” said Papuashvili.
At the last session, they passed the law on consumer protection in the first reading, adding that is one of the examples of best European practice and the implementation of the Association Agreement.
