President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Pere Joan Pons Sampietro, said that meetings held during the delegation’s two-day visit to Georgia were productive and constructive.
Sampietro noted that the OSCE PA delegation held discussions with representatives from across the political spectrum following several months of prior cooperation. During the visit, the delegation also met with members of the opposition as well as representatives of civil society.
He noted that a particularly fruitful and sincere meeting was held with the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.
“We discussed the results of the 2024 report and the challenges the country is currently facing,” Sampietro said.
The OSCE PA President added that more details about the delegation’s discussions and findings will be presented during a press conference scheduled for tomorrow.
