The relations between the two countries are mutually beneficial and positive – perhaps the reason for this is history, because you are freedom fighters and we are people of the same nature, – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said at a joint briefing after the meeting with the Georgian Prime Minister.
Orbán congratulated Irakli Kobakhidze on his victory in the elections and said that he would wait for the results of the elections before visiting Georgia, so that his arrival during the election campaign would not be perceived as interference.
“I did not want to come to Georgia during the election campaign because it would be perceived as an attempt to interfere with us. We waited for the results and then decided to come to Tbilisi, so thank you for the invitation after the elections.
Relations between the two countries are mutually beneficial and positive. I don’t know why it happens – maybe it’s because of history, because you are a people who fight for freedom, we are people of the same nature. There are states with great power around us and we are always fighting for sovereignty and freedom. This is a historical fact that clearly shows that our relations have a positive face. People observe each other and it gives special joy. Therefore, I want to congratulate the Prime Minister of Georgia on his victory in the elections”, Orbán said.
