Opposition politician Gogi Tsulaia, chairman of the New Christian Democrats, has been released from prison.
At today’s trial, the judge granted the motion of Tsulaia’s lawyer and ordered 6,000 GEL bail.
Gogi Tsulaia has been charged under Article 138 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages action similar to sexual violence. Tsulaia was detained by law enforcers on March 19. Initially, the investigation was conducted under Article 126 of the Criminal Code, which stipulates violence.
The MIA says he abused a woman in a rented apartment.
Defendant Gogi Tsulaia pleads not guilty.
