At the protest on the highway on the outskirts of Tbilisi, opposition politician Gigi Ugulava and one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, Nika Melia, were reportedly detained. The police removed them from the area.
The press service of the Coalition for Change reported that their activist Dimitri Bidzinashvili had also been detained.
There were clashes and verbal confrontations between protesters and law enforcement. Several other protesters have also reportedly been detained.
Protesters are demanding new elections and the release of those detained during previous protests. Opposition politicians are also present at the demonstration.
