Based on the decision of the Coordination Council, the obligation to wear a face mask in open spaces will be abolished from March 28. Wearing a mask outdoors will have only a recommendatory character.
However, the obligation to wear a mask remains in force both indoors and in public transport.
This is practically the only restriction left in Georgia due to the pandemic.
The Minister of Health of Georgia also said at the briefing today that the pandemic is practically coming to an end and this is indicated by the sharp decrease in the number of infected people and the decrease in the number of those hospitalized. The Minister of Health noted that only 800 people are being treated in hospitals at the moment.
