A newborn has died of coronavirus at the Tsitsishvili Clinic in Tbilisi.
The baby contracted coronavirus from family members.
The medical director of the clinic Maia Chkhaidze confirmed the information to the media, saying that the condition of two other newborns infected with COVID who are currently on artificial respiration is still serious.
One of them, who was transferred from Abkhazia to the territory controlled by the central government, is infected with the so-called Delta strain.
Georgia reported 1,653 coronavirus cases, 466 recoveries, and 13 deaths on Friday, the official figures show.
