The National Environment Agency (NEA) has issued an alert regarding adverse weather conditions expected across parts of Georgia on February 11.
Agency says heavy rainfall and snowfall are forecast in several regions, particularly in eastern Georgia. The weather is expected to be accompanied by fog, strong winds, and an increased risk of avalanches in mountainous areas.
The NEA warned that traffic restrictions may be imposed on certain roads due to heavy snowfall, poor visibility, blizzards, and avalanche threats. Drivers are urged to exercise caution, especially when traveling through high-altitude and mountainous routes.
In addition, heavy rainfall may lead to the swelling of small rivers and trigger landslides in mountainous zones. The agency assessed the landslide threat level as medium and advised relevant services and the public to remain alert.
The National Environment Agency continues to monitor weather developments and recommends following official updates and safety guidelines.
