The US Embassy issued a statement this week, noting Georgia’s National Center for Disease Control and Public Health and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have announced the launch of a Nationwide Serosurvey for Hepatitis B and C, and COVID-19.
“The United States and Georgia are strong partners in many sectors, including public health. Yesterday, Georgia’s National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC) and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced the launch of a Nationwide Serosurvey for Hepatitis B and C and COVID-19. This survey will assess the progress of the Hepatitis C Elimination Program, coverage of Hepatitis B vaccination, exposure to SARS-CoV-2, and help health professionals target treatment and interventions to Georgians affected by hepatitis. This is an important step toward eliminating viral hepatitis in Georgia,” reads the statement.
