NATO ships have entered the port of Batumi in Georgia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reports.
The NATO Permanent Second Anti-Mine Unit (SNMCMG2) is being hosted by the Border Police Coast Guard Department of the Ministry of Internal. The unit consists of Spanish (Flagship), Italian, Bulgarian, Romanian, and Turkish naval ships.
Within the framework of the visit, joint training will be held in the Black Sea with the participation of the Georgian Coast Guard and the ships of the NATO Naval Unit. The purpose of the training is to increase the interoperability of the Georgian and NATO navies and to strengthen Georgia’s defense capabilities.
