The National Assessment and Examinations Center has released a comprehensive information document titled ‘Guide for Master’s Degree Candidates’, outlining main details for applicants planning to take the 2026 unified master’s examinations. Online registration is currently in progress via the NAEC portal and will remain open until May 11, 18:00, having started on April 6 at 10:00.
Applicants must pay the mandatory exam fee of 50 GEL no later than May 6, 18:00 to complete their registration. After this deadline, candidates will only be able to finalize ongoing registrations or modify their selected exam city until May 11.
Payments can be made through platforms operated by Bank of Georgia, including online payment systems, internet banking, mobile applications and self-service terminals.
The guide outlined that the unified master’s test consists of four components:
- Reading comprehension
- Analytical writing
- Logical reasoning
- Quantitative reasoning
To pass the exam, candidates must meet the minimum competency threshold in at least three out of four components. However, some graduate programs may require applicants to pass all four sections.
Passing the unified master’s examination is a mandatory step for admission but not the only requirement. Candidates must also complete additional entrance exams by individual higher education institutions. These internal exams are administered independently by universities. The guide also includes a detailed list of master’s programs offered by higher education institutions across the country.
As part of ongoing higher education reforms, tuition fees for students enrolled in master’s programs at public universities in Georgia are fully funded by the state.
The NAEC is responsible for organizing the unified exam process, while universities oversee their respective internal assessments.
