Multinational military exercise Agile Spirit 2025 officially launches in Georgia

The multinational military exercise Agile Spirit 2025 has officially begun in Georgia, marking the 12th time the country is hosting the high-profile drills. The opening ceremony took place at the NATO–Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) in Krtsanisi.

Co-led by Brigadier General Koba Grigolia of the Georgian Defense Forces and Colonel William Cox of the Georgia (US) National Guard, the event brought together representatives from the Georgian military, NATO, the US Embassy, EU Monitoring Mission, and foreign defense attachés.

Held jointly in Georgia and Turkey, the exercise began on July 21 with a U.S.-Turkish airborne operation near Turkey’s Adana Province.

Troops from 11 countries, including Georgia, the US, and Turkey, are taking part, supported by two multinational battalions and observers from two additional states.

The training aims to boost combat readiness, improve interoperability, and strengthen coordination among allied and partner forces.
