The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia has announced personnel changes across its police departments, involving leadership shifts in both regional and central divisions.
Teimuraz Kupatadze, formerly Director of the Central Criminal Police Department, has been appointed Chairman of the Security Police Department. His former deputy, Davit Kiknadze, will now lead the Central Criminal Police Department.
Significant changes have also taken place within regional police structures. Vazha Siradze has been named Director of the Tbilisi Police Department while Levan Maisuradze, who previously held a deputy role there, is now Director of the Patrol Police Department.
The current Tbilisi Police Director, Lasha Gogniashvili, became the head of Kakheti Police Department. He replaces Teimuraz Kalandadze who has been reassigned to lead the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Police Department.
Further changes include:
- Levan Kvitsiani, now Director of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department
- Guram Natsvlishvili, shifting to lead the Samtskhe-Javakheti Police Department
- Ramaz Tatarashvili, taking over the Imereti Police Department
- Zaza Tskhakaia, now Director of the Guria Police Department
- Kakhaber Muradashvili, appointed to lead the Shida Kartli Police Department
“The ongoing personnel changes at the Ministry of Internal Affairs serve to further strengthen and develop the system,”the MIA stated in its official release.
