Citizens met the diplomats with applause and ovations during the procession.
There were also shouts: “Georgia, Georgia!”.
Earlier today, the MEPs met with the Presdent of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili, representatives of the opposition, NGO and media, where they discussd the current developments in the country and police violence against pro-European demonstrators.
For information, citizens are protesting the decision of Georgian Dream on November 28, based on which Georgia will not put the issue of opening negotiations with the European Union on the agenda until the end of 2028. Their demand is unchanged – to schedule re-elections and release the citizens arrested during the protest. Protests are ongoing in the capital and several cities of the country.
