Georgia has become the second most popular destination for Russian tourists, second only to Turkey, reports Tass agency.
“For foreign destinations, after Turkey, Georgia has become the second country in the number of bookings,” Aleksei Volkov, president of the General National Union of the Russian Hospitality Industry, told the agency.
According to him, Georgia cannot overtake Turkey, since the latter has more variety in, and different standards of quality offers for Russian tourists.
Volkov emphasizes that Turkey has been known to Russian citizens for a long time, while they are still getting used to Georgia, although they like Georgian cuisine, mountains and sea resorts.
