Russia’s allegations are false. I would just point out the irony of the country, Russia, that is illegally occupying 20 percent of Georgia as we speak, making those absurd allegations about another country, – US State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller said at the briefing.
Miller was responding to the question: “Russia’s foreign intelligence service accused the US of plotting a regime change in Georgia, and said the Biden administration has already developed a large-scale information campaign to discredit the ruling Georgian Dream party. How do you respond to that?”
“It’s completely false,” Miller answered. “I think it’s quite obvious that it’s completely false. It’s not the first time Russia has made allegations like that with respect to US involvement in Georgia and other countries around the world; allegations that have been completely false, and have been absurd. And I would just point out the irony of the country, Russia, that is illegally occupying 20 percent of Georgia as we speak, making those absurd allegations about another country”, he said.
The Russian state news agency TASS published information shared by the press office of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, in which they claim that Americans have already given an order to the opposition forces in Georgia to start planning protest rallies related to the elections.
