Renowned Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili was named Player of the Match after Valencia CF’s triumph over Girona FC.
Mamardashvili, who currently plays for Valencia but will join Liverpool F.C. in 2025, noted that this recent 2-0 victory is very important for the club, since they had a poor start to the season.
“It was our best game of the season so far,” said Mamardashvili after the match.
The goalkeeper is also nominated for the Ballon d’Or, scheduled to be awarded on October 28.
