Liverpool is closing in on a deal to sign Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili for June 2025, said Italian sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano, on Thursday.
Romano noted that “there are still final steps needed on payment terms & deal structure in order to get deal done with Valencia.”
“Fee will be €35m guaranteed plus 10% sell-on clause and staying at least for one year on loan at Valencia.
Alisson will be Liverpool’s goalkeeper this season and then Mamardashvili will join starting from June 2025,” Romano wrote on Facebook.
Giorgi Mamardashvili currently plays plays as a goalkeeper for La Liga club Valencia and the Georgia national team.
Mamardashvili spent much of his youth years at Dinamo Tbilisi. After signing a professional contract with this club, he was loaned to other Erovnuli Liga teams for three seasons before his transfer to Valencia. He has quickly established himself as a first-choice shot-stopper, becoming the first ever Georgian goalkeeper in the Spanish top tier.
