Levan Dotiashvili, illegally detained by the Russian occupation forces in Kirbali, released

Levan Dotiashvili, who was illegally detained by the representatives of the Russian occupation forces near the village of Kirbali, Gori municipality, during the murder of Tamaz Ginturi, is free and is in the territory controlled by the central government. The information is disseminated by SSG.

SSG explains that the issue of immediate and unconditional release of Levan Dotiashvili was actively discussed on November 6, at the technical meeting held in the village of Ergenti, Gori municipality, in which representatives of the Russian occupation forces, the occupied Tskhinvali region and the EU monitoring mission participated.

“When communicating about the release of an illegally detained person, both the “hotline” mechanism and all other tools available to the central government were intensively used. International partners were actively involved in the negotiations.

The central government continues to work actively to bring those persons involved in the murder of Tamaz Ginturi to justice. The work is also underway to release all the citizens of Georgia who are illegally detained in the occupied territories,” reads the information released by the Security Service.

Georgian citizen Tamaz Ginturi was shot dead by Russian occupation forces on November 6. According to available information, Tamaz Ginturi and Levan Dotiashvili were going to the church of Lomis to light candles, when the representatives of the Russian occupation forces opened fire. As a result, Tamaz Ginturi was killed, and Levan Dotiashvili was kidnapped.
