Three people have died in a landslide in the village of Nergeeti, Baghdati, in Georgia’s Imereti region, and 6 people are still missing.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs says 4 residential houses were hit by the landslide, and 1 citizen has been transferred to a safe place.
Rescuers have been working on the scene for several hours.
“Temur Mgebrishvili, the head of the emergency management service, is in the disaster zone and is in charge of the ongoing work. More than 200 firemen and rescuers, representatives of various units of the local government and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are present at the disaster sites, as is equipment, drones, and a group of canine experts,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs says.
