Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told reporters that Ukrainian authorities had openly pressured Georgia to open a second front in the war against Russia, and that recent remarks by former Polish President Andrzej Duda only reaffirm this.
“We all remember high-ranking Ukrainian officials — including the Security Council Secretary, the President’s advisor, and members of the Rada — openly demanding that Georgia open a second front. When we refused, Ukraine responded by withdrawing its ambassador, citing our decision not to impose sanctions on Russia or send volunteer fighters to Ukraine,” Kobakhidze stated.
He stressed that the demands from Kyiv were clear and well-documented. “The statement by the former president of Poland serves as additional confirmation of this,” Kobakhidze added.
In a recent interview with Polish media, former President Andrzej Duda said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had attempted to draw Poland into the conflict with Russia.
“They’ve been trying to drag everyone into the war from the very beginning. It’s obvious, it’s in their interest, and it would be best if they could involve NATO countries. They are seeking those who would actively fight on their side against Russia. This has been happening since day one,” Duda said.
