Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated a Christmas tree lighting event is planned in front of the parliament on Friday, December 10, at 20:00, and the whole city will be lit up with New Year illuminations.
Kaladze also noted that the “New Year Village” will be officially opened on December 24, which will be located in Orbeliani Square and Dedaeni Garden until January 14. During this time, events for all age groups will be held in specially arranged spaces at these locations. The New Year Village will have a variety of New Year decorations, installations, and Santa Claus’s house. Children’s activities and concerts will be held here daily: fairy tale characters, children’s workshops. Visitors to the New Year’s Village will also have the opportunity to watch films at an open-air cinema.
“It should be noted that several thousand people will be involved and employed in the New Year project, which is especially important for the citizens affected by the pandemic. I want to once again express my support and encouragement to these people. I want them to know that they will always have the support of the municipality. I understand how difficult period you have been through. We will help you as much as possible, to have interesting programs so that you do not stop and continue working in your direction,” Kaladze said.
