Kakha Kaladze has disregarded the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee’s newly published report on Georgia, calling it ‘worthless’ and accusing EU processes of being driven by ‘corruption’ and ‘slander.’

“We have seen many resolutions of this type. These resolutions are worthless,” Kaladze said in response to the committee’s decision, which saw 55 MEPs support the document, 14 oppose it, and 4 abstain.

Kaladze stated that the entire process is driven by behind-the-scenes influence and lobbying. “We know very well how they are adopted, how much they pay. All this is wrapped up in lobbying. In reality, it is ordinary corruption,” he claimed.

Kaladze also commented on Lithuanian MEP Rasa Juknevičienė, the report’s lead author, labeling her one of many ‘odious bureaucrats.’ Despite the criticism, he expressed confidence in a different European future: “We will receive the kind of Europe we aspire to, and not the kind that exists today, which is based on lies, falsehood and slander.”
