The journalist asked Kakha Kaladze, Mayor of Tbilisi, about the Tskneti fire, noting that many people, including those on social networks, were suggesting that the fire had been set on purpose so that after burning the place, the status of the area would be removed and there would be a possible to build new houses in the place.
Kaladze responded, that, fortunately, the years of deforestation for the construction of recreational areas and sports fields have passed.
“Talk about a delay in firefighting is a lie. The public sees reality very well. We have heroic firefighters. I want to thank each of them very much for what they did in Borjomi Valley. I want to thank them for the way they serve our country, they are ready to serve the motherland at the cost of their lives,” stated Kaladze.
