Irakli Kobakhidze: Currently, GD has 52.54%, UNM – 29.45%, For Georgia – 5.71%

Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Georgian Dream, says that at this stage, based on the data posted on elections2021.ge, the Georgian Dream has 52.54% of votes and the National Movement – 29.45%.

As he stated at the briefing held at the party office, they expect that the final results will coincide with the exit poll results published by Imedi and Gorbi.

“We would like to inform you about the primary results of the elections according to the election protocols. We are talking about the official protocols that we receive from the polling stations. This data is posted on the relevant portal elections2021.ge, which can be viewed by any citizen. Information on this portal will be updated in every 10 minutes in the coming hours, and finally, in 2-3 hours, full information on the election results will be presented. At this stage, the data for the capital Tbilisi has not yet been published due to the fact that cities need more time to count the results.

“Regarding the data available at this stage, 544 out of 3743 polling stations have been counted, this is 14.53% of polling stations, 139 thousand votes were counted in total, the results at this stage are as follows: Georgian Dream – 52.54%, National Movement – 29.45%, For Georgia – 5.71%. Other parties have lower results.

“Considering all this, our expectation is that the final results will coincide with the exit polls published by Imedi and Gorbi,” Kobakhidze said.

At the same time, he does not rule out holding a second round of local elections in Tbilisi.

“The announced exit poll result, 51.3%, indicates two things. One is that Kaladze convincingly won the election with a big advantage. Regarding the issue of the second round, the margin of error of exit polls is about 3%, so we have to wait until the votes are counted and we will have the final picture after that,” GD Chairman noted.

However, the website mentioned by him, elections2021.ge, has technical shortcomings and can’t be reached time by time.
