In the Eurozone, the pace of consumer price growth has slowed. In particular, the annual inflation level in January was 2.8%, which is 0.1 percentage point less than the previous month’s figure.
The slowdown of the inflation rate is directly related to the monetary policy tightened by the European Central Bank. The ECB committee raised the refinancing rate to 4.5%, which is unusually high for Europe.
