Ilia Darchiashvili has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United Kingdom, as well as Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia announced.
Darchiashvili previously served as Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2022 to 2024 and was Ambassador to Poland between 2017 and 2021.
Over the years, he has held several senior government roles, including Head of the Government Administration, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, and Executive Director of the Georgian Municipal Development Fund.
He has been awarded the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
