If the liberals had won the election, it would have been the best form of democracy in all of Western Europe, but since the conservative spirit won, there is controversy in Europe – this was also the case after the Hungarian election, and it should not be taken seriously! – This statement was made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán at a briefing held in the government administration during his visit to Georgia.
Orbán congratulated his Georgian colleague Irakli Kobakhidze on the “democratic conduct of the elections and his victory” and said that he can always count on Hungary’s strategic partnership.
Orbán the results of the elections are indisputable.
“As the Prime Minister of Hungary, who has won many disputes, I want to tell you that there will be disputes in the future, but you have to accept it as it is. The election results are undeniable! Free and democratic elections have been held, but there will still be controversy in Europe. You should not take it seriously because it is a common story. There is this kind of argument, it always is in Brussels. When conservative parties win elections, we always see such arguments. European politics is based on a guide – if the liberals win, then it’s a democracy, if the conservatives win, then there was no democracy. “This kind of debate always happens in Brussels – whether the elections will be held in Hungary or in any other country, it will be like this and it will be perceived like that,” Viktor Orbán said.
Prior to his visit, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security, Josep Borrell, announced that Orbán “would not be representing the European Union during his visit to Georgia.”
