Hilton Batumi is proud to celebrate its team member, Geno Dzidziguri, who has won the highly coveted CEO Light & Warmth Award.
In 2020, more than 650 team members from across Hilton’s global network were nominated by their colleagues. Finalists were selected by a committee of representatives from across the company, with just 13 winners chosen by Hilton’s President and CEO Christopher J. Nassetta. Geno’s victory is anticipated to bring a global spotlight on Batumi’s hospitality talent.
Geno was recognized for his efforts in leading numerous outstanding initiatives, focused on improving the lives of people around him. To support young people with special needs, Geno created a training program which saw 20 candidates build practical experience in the hospitality sector, with many going on to gain employment within the industry. Geno is also responsible for Hilton Batumi’s partnership with TEMI, an organization that teaches vulnerable individuals to produce bio-organic wine, which is now sold at the hotel’s restaurants.
Geno’s leadership has also seen Hilton Batumi launch a dual education program, allowing students to gain practical hospitality experience during their studies. This was possible thanks to a partnership with the German Corporation for International Cooperation GmbH and the Ministry of Education and Science. To further support the students in Georgia, Geno implemented a dedicated workshop area for the local professional college students to practice their hospitality skills. The space offers all the necessary tools needed to perform housekeeping, restaurant service and front desk tasks. It is officially authorized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Adjara and is used as part of a new educational hospitality module.
“To me light and warmth means giving hope, inspiring and nurturing the people around me. It is about exchanging knowledge, emotions and positivity with my team members and the community in which we operate. That is what makes our world a better place and our community a great place for work and life. Having achieved such outstanding recognition from Hilton makes me even more motivated to bring my passion and enthusiasm into everything I do. I believe this to be the beginning of something great!” said Geno.
