The National Environment Agency has issued a weather warning for the coming days, cautioning the public about heavy rainfall and related risks.
As the forecasters state, on 30 September rain is expected in western Georgia, spreading to eastern regions from the afternoon of 30 September through the first half of 2 October. In some areas, rainfall may be heavy, accompanied by thunderstorms, hail and strong winds.
The agency warns that intense precipitation could cause significant rises in river water levels, flash floods in smaller rivers, and trigger landslides or mudflows in hilly and mountainous areas. The overall risk level has been assessed as medium.
