The Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee heard Maka Mindiashvili, the candidate nominated for the position of Public Defender of Georgia.
As the candidate notes, the public defender should be a connecting link between the people and the government.
“All complaints must be taken into account, and the public defender must represent the groups whose complaints are being brought. Protecting human rights and freedoms, especially those of uncared-for children, extended families, abused women, convicts, and socially vulnerable people, will be my first priority if I am elected to office. I’m going to file a lawsuit to have the bank interest reduced,” Mindiashvili stated.
The candidate answered the questions of the representatives of the Factions, Political Groups, and non-attached MPs.
The Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee has already heard 12 candidates out of 19 candidates for the position of Public Defender presented to the Parliament.
The process will resume tomorrow at 09.30h with the hearing of Jemal Natelashvili.
