Green Rock and Hyatt Hotels Corporation have signed an agreement to introduce the internationally renowned premium hotel brand Hyatt Regency Dilijan to Armenia. The hotel will become the first Hyatt Regency property in the country and will be developed in Dilijan.

On July 25, the agreement signing ceremony and the official groundbreaking ceremony for the future hotel took place, attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, including Deputy Minister of Economy Anushik Avetyan, Chairperson of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy Lusine Gevorgyan, Deputy Governor of Tavush Narek Ghushchyan, Founder of Green Rock Mareta Gevorgyan, Strategic Advisor of Green Rock Vazgen Gevorgyan, as well as representatives of Hyatt, Green Rock, and RM Engineering.

Hyatt Regency Dilijan will become part of Green Rock’s multifunctional complex and one of the region’s key development projects. The large-scale project is aimed at supporting Dilijan’s transformation into an attractive year-round destination for tourism, business, and culture, welcoming guests throughout all seasons.

The complex will feature restaurants and bars, retail spaces, family entertainment centers, two cinemas, as well as a wellness and SPA center with a fitness club and an outdoor swimming pool.

The hotel will include 205 guestrooms and suites, along with a modern conference center designed to accommodate more than 550 guests. One of the distinctive features of the future hotel will be a rooftop helipad, which will not only enhance accessibility but also contribute to attracting international guests and strengthening connections with global markets.

Katerina Danekina, CEO of Green Rock Management Group, noted that signing the agreement with Hyatt Hotels Corporation represents an important milestone in the development of Green Rock and Dilijan.

“We are delighted to introduce the Hyatt Regency brand to Dilijan. This is a significant and symbolic milestone both for Green Rock and for Armenia. Together with Hyatt, we aim to create not just a hotel, but a complete destination that will attract guests throughout the year and contribute to the development of tourism, culture, and the local community.”

Located approximately one and a half hours from Yerevan and around three hours from Tbilisi, Dilijan is an attractive destination for both local and international visitors, with significant potential for further growth in tourism and business events.

Ludwig Bouldoukian, Hyatt’s Regional Vice President of Development, Middle East and Africa, highlighted Dilijan’s significant long-term potential as one of the most promising tourism destinations of the future.

“We are pleased to introduce the Hyatt Regency brand to Armenia through our collaboration with Green Rock. Dilijan has significant long-term potential, and Hyatt Regency, as a premium full-service brand, perfectly aligns with the vision of developing the city as a leading destination for leisure, business meetings, and international events.”

Overall, Green Rock’s development programs in Dilijan are expected to create more than 800 new jobs, making a significant contribution to the region’s long-term socio-economic development.
