Greek airline Sky Express has officially commenced direct flights between Athens and Tbilisi, providing a new travel option with flights operating three times a week on Airbus A321 neo aircraft. Sky Express is the third airline offering scheduled direct flights between the two countries alongside Aegean Airlines and Wizz Air.
The welcoming event was held at Tbilisi International Airport, with Irakli Karkashadze, Director of the United Airports of Georgia, Tea Zakaradze, TAV Georgia’s General Manager, and Ioannis Grylos, the owner of Sky Express, in attendance. Karkashadze emphasized that the launch of the airline will positively impact passenger growth.
Over 186,000 passengers traveled between Georgia and Greece during the past 10 months, highlighting the strong demand for this particular route.
