Giuli Alasania on Secret Recordings: I Don’t Confirm it, There’s Been No Such Thing

I have not listened to it, nor was there, nor could there be such a thing in nature, besides, if there was anything like that, why today? – As far as they told me, it happened 2 years ago, why did they recalled it now? Maybe the reason is that now there is a trial and they want to harm my son?! – the mother of the third president of Georgia, Giuli Alasania, told journalists, thus responding to the recording released.

Giuli Alasania connects the recordings with the ongoing court proceedings of Mikheil Saakashvili.

“I don’t want to respond to this at all, I’m not interested in this issue, because it’s impossible. From what I heard from journalists, my son and I are agents.

“I haven’t listened to it, nor am I going to listen to it, I have completely other urgent matters. I do not confirm it in any way. As far as I was told it happened 2 years ago, why did they recall it now? Maybe the reason is that now there is a trial and they want to harm my son?! I have never heard, nor was there, nor could there be such a thing in nature, besides, if there was anything like that, why today?

“Who is Giorgi Gakharia? I don’t remember at all. What are you asking me I don’t know, I don’t remember anything like what you told me. Do you know what surprises me the most in this story? These young people, who do not even remember the Soviet Union, do not remember Russia, most of them do not even speak Russian, what made them hate this country and why do they love this Russia?” Alasania said.

For information, the Rustavi2 TV company released an audio recording, the authenticity of which has not been confirmed. According to the information of the TV company, in the recording Mikheil Saakashvili’s mother Giuli Alasania talks about Mikheil Saakashvili’s return to Georgia. She also talks about the opposition and calls them “parasites”. She also mentions Giorgi Gakharia, who is being “prepared for the future”, as well as Bidzina Ivanishvili, who “is not wanted by the Russians”.
