“Georgia has declared that it wants to become a member of the European Union. We will be happy if this happens,” said the German Ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer.
He noted that Europe would help Georgia to make the game successful.
“My advice would be that if it is a priority topic for Georgia to become a member of the European Union, in this case, they should concentrate on this topic. Europe is a union of pluralistic democratic countries, so the Council of Europe imposed 12-point recommendations on Georgia. After the implementation of these recommendations, we can talk about the status of candidate. Then begins the long and difficult way for Georgia to become a member state of the European Union,” the ambassador said.
