External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $8,678.3 million in January-August 2021, 22.2% higher year-on-year, the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reported this week.
Based on the latest report by Geostat, the value of export increased by 25.7% to reach $2,605.5 million, while import increased by 20.7% and amounted to $6,072.9 million.
The trade deficit equaled $3,467.4 million and its share in trade turnover constituted 40.0%.
