Georgian weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze (+102 kg) has become a three-time Olympic Champion at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Saturday.
Talakhadze earned Gold by lifting 210 and 215 kg in snatch and 247 and 255 kg in clean and jerk, in total 470 kg.
The silver medal went to Varazdat Lalayan from Armenia while the Bronze medal to Gor Minasyan from Bahrein.
Lasha Talakhadze, 30, is a three-time Olympic champion, seven-time world champion, and seven-time European champion competing in the super-heavyweight category.
For the record, today, another Georgian – freestyle wrestler Geno Petriashvili (-125 kg) – became an Olympic champion.
In the final of the competition, Petriashvili defeated the two-time world champion, 23-year-old Iranian athlete Amir Hossein Zare 10:9 and brought Georgia the fifth medal at the Paris Olympics.
